I found your blog at Cozy Little House - and joined as a follower. Love your ideas for repurposing, and I do that myself quite a bit! Of course I would like to enter your contest, and for the Earth Hour Event, Mr. Wonderful and I will be having a quiet dinner alone, candles lit, our hand-crank radio playing soft romantic music from a classical radio station as we share some home made dessert wine we received as a gift from my brother in law! Can hardly wait! We celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on the 22nd, and it's been a wonderful romance all week long!

The Gloom and Doom Impact
What Is The Greentiques Solution?
The Greentiques Solution is the simple idea that by restoring, recycling, repurposing, and creating things with their own 2 hands, americans can make a positive impact on the economy and help save the planet.
What is a Greentique?
A "greentique" is simply this....Pretty much any old thing that can be recycled, restored, repurposed, fixed or made beautiful again, including furniture, picture frames, piano keys, bicycle spokes, old clothes and maybe even a dirt clod or two.
Need Advice? Have a Question?
I am here to help you be a better craftsperson. If you need advice on antique restoration, furniture refinishing, chair caning, stained glass window repair, rush seat weaving, woodworking, or a variety of other questions involving working with your hands, just ask me. Tackling over 35 years of projects has let me get a little experience in a lot of different areas and I am always glad to help you if I can. Just ask your question as a comment on any of my blog posts and I will do my best to get you an answer. It is my way of thanking people who follow my humble blog. Have a great day! -Rory-
As a young boy my parents could not afford new furniture. We spent a lot of time at auctions, garage sales and searching trash cans for what we thought might be usable after a bit of elbow grease. My first job was stripping furniture for an antique shop located in a small town in Kansas. I have had a number of adventures and occupations since then, but the most rewarding and empowering endeavors were the ones where I made something out of nothing using my own two hands, and teaching others how to do the same thing.
