Okay, okay, I know you are all pretty busy out there with plans for Easter, but tomorrow night there is a 1 hour event that is about to take place called Earth Hour 2010. All you have to do to participate is turn out your lights. I personally think it is a great excuse for a last minute party, or a candlelit dinner, or that bubble bath in the dark with your favorite glass of wine. (You know you deserve it.) I would love to hear what you all are doing for this planet saving event. And to make it just a little more fun I will sweeten the deal. Whoever posts the best comment about their personal Earth Hour event, will get a free gift from The Greentiques Solution. I am not sure what it will be, but it will be one of my own handmade items. I promise to make it worth your while. Deadline to enter is Sunday at midnight. I will announce the winner on Monday.
To enter you only need to do 2 things.
1. Become a follower, if you haven't become one already.
2. Post a comment about your Earth Hour event.
Best Comment wins. That's all there is to it.
I think this will be a fun last minute contest. Good luck and have fun with it!

I didn't see your email address, but it's early, so I may have missed it. Just wanted you to know your blog was one of my featured blogs today on Welcome Wagon Friday.

ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! I am so glad that you made it by. When you come back be sure to take a look at my Easter eggs. They seem to be a big hit.

Hi! The Earth Hour 2010 is at 8:30, which is shortly after we get our little one to bed. So we're thinking of turning out all of the rest of the lights too and sitting down for a relaxing candlelit dessert - just hubby and I - out on the porch.
ReplyDeleteSarah, Hi There!, Candlelit dessert. Very nice. Glad you found my blog. Thank you for following. Have fun!

Earth Hour is just about the time we go to bed (early to bed, early to rise, dontcha know!), but we'll stay up just so we can participate.
ReplyDeleteI plan on a candlelit patio and a bottle of wine under the stars with my beloved (he'll be in the chaise, I hope his snoring doesn't ruin the moment). Should he wake, I guess I'll share my wine with him. ;)
It is such a wonderful gesture, so sad that it's only once a year!
Nola, Thank you for following and telling us about your plans. Lee Ann and I were saying the same thing you just mentioned. Seems a shame we can only figure out 1 hour a year to do something like this. Glad you stopped by.

we had an early dinner with friends which was planned before we knew about earth hour. so, we had our dinner and just before 8:30 we started lighting our candles. at the strike of 8:30, we had a lovely time chatting and playing games by candlelight. time flew so quickly, we almost didn't notice when it was 9:30!
ReplyDeletePeggy,
ReplyDeleteSounds you had a great time. I have entered you in the contest. Lee Ann and I had ice cream by candlelight. With us, there was no tv or radio either. Just quiet. We both decided we need to do it again soon. Why wait another year?
