Rory: As a young boy my parents could not afford new furniture. We spent a lot of time at auctions, garage sales and searching trash cans for what we thought might be usable after a bit of elbow grease. My first job was stripping furniture for an antique shop located in a small town in Kansas. I have had a number of adventures and occupations since then, but the most rewarding and empowering endeavors were the ones where I made something out of nothing using my own two hands, and teaching others how to do the same thing.
